Uniform FAQ

AHG is a uniformed organization. Wearing The AHG Official Uniform, either Class A or Class B, signifies belonging to a group that shares common beliefs and goals.

Adult Members in uniform indicate to families, that they are registered and appropriately trained; for girls, it lets everyone know they are a safe adult.

Uniforms are an equalizer for Girl Members–instead of worrying about wearing the latest trends, girls can attend AHG meetings and activities knowing they will fit right in.  Seeing the uniforms of older girls gives younger girls motivation to continue in their AHG journey.

Logistically, AHG Uniforms are useful when a Troop is participating in a community activity like marching in a parade or serving at a local food pantry. Community members are able to identify the Troop and learn about AHG’s values. It is also easier for Troop leadership to keep track of girls in matching uniforms while out in the community.

Another reason is to teach our beautiful girls to be modest in what they wear so that God may be glorified.

Many of our members have had success finding gently used uniform items on sites like eBay, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and other similar sites.  Please be careful and take care to purchase these items in a safe and secure manner.

As a new troop we haven't had a chance to facilitate a uniform exchange, but that may be an option in the future.  For now, please feel free to ask among our AHG families to see if anyone has any used uniform items their daughter can no longer wear.

We've created this easy to follow PDF files to help you know where to place the various types of AHG insignia:

What to do with Badges, Patches, and Pins?

We recommend sewing on badges, patches, and awards with clear thread OR using Badge Magic.  We do not recommend using off-brand adhesives to apply the insignia.

Locking pin-backs are highly recommended to keep pins from being lost.
